1. Early Days – Paul McCartney – The strange thing about this terrific song is how old Paul sounds, he sounds every inch his 70 plus years and the effect, as he reaches for a note out of his range, is less elegiac and more wearied – A

2. Future Days – Pearl Jam –  On the other hand, this rock ballad has a certain strange yearning – A

3. Glow In The Dark – The Bongos – The amazing thing here is that Barone’s song is so part of a time and place it should be rooted, but the construction is so quirky and rhythmically unsettling it hasn’t really aged – A

4. Somewhere Between – Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn – A minor song given a professional dusting by major country stars – A

5. Another Story – The Head And The Heart – Minor key ear candy – B

6. Murder – Justin Timberlake And Jay-Z – Some rough and tumble by gentleman Justin… maybe not such a great idea. Less get down, more stagger forward – C-

7. Best I Ever had – Gavin McGraw – His only good song on the newbie, but at least that does make one – B

8. Born To Lose – The Devil Wears Prada – Off last years excellent liver, a roaring hardcore will have you believing – A

9. The King Is Dead – Fall Out Boy – go metal – B+

10. Here In the Black – Gary Numan – Noisy piece of mutilation staking its claim to what Reznor took off him – B
