Bealtes legend, there’s an app for that. Pathetic and said is word that there is a new app that grew from Lennons travel adventures and days working on the Double Fantasy album. The Bermuda Tapes” which will be released through the iTunes App Store on November 5 follows Lennon’s travels to Bermuda during the last year of his life .
Sigh.. it’s so sad. You’ll able to hear demos of the songs “Woman,” “Starting Over,” “I’m Losing You,” “(Just Like) Starting Over,” “Nobody Told Me” and “Dear Yoko.” There is also an interactive element to the app in which the user can visit a disco. A freakin disco? We all know John was big in the dance scene so that makes perfect sense. I just find the entire project disturbing on every level. Even the charity aspect cannot lessen the sour on this one.
All proceeds from the app will go to the campaign “Imagine There’s No Hunger.” Said Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono in a statement: “I think the album app captures the sense of discovery and the artistic dialogue that John and I shared at that time and provides a new way to help us imagine a world without hunger.”
Id like to imagine a world without exploitation of dead rock legends instead. Please dont buy this- just donate to a local food pantry in Johns name instead.
