The Devil Wears Prada is a Christian Metal Core band that’s screamin’ for Jesus.  I am a huge fan.  Mike Hranica inspires with fury and when he vocal chord disintegrate he’d make a heck of an evangelist.  But here is the kick- you dont have to buy in to the message to absolutely love these guys- you just have to appreciate great speed.

rocknyc has followed these guys forever and with good reason.  They’re consistent and fabulous both live and recorded and swell guys in general as we discovered when we interviewed them back in 2011.  Their latest offering is well…

First off I think they’ve been hanging out with Bring Me The Horizon cuz those coven masks sure look just the same.  But I cant fault them for goin’ creepy.  This video for “Martyrs” is chock full of religious imagery and pleased to God and it takes the wuss out of praise thats for sure.

Hranica yelling about being lonely with lyric flashes is meh, but the theatrical aspects of the video are top notch.  They should have either kept it a lyric video or done a full play.  Not sure why they opted to cut it up but unfortunately it is distracting.  I wanted more story line for hte characters and less lyric but hey that’s me- I dont sing along.

The song is from their upcoming album 8:18.  Could this be their breakthrough release?  It’s time that’s for sure.
