When you’re the child of a legend your sense of reality is skewed. If your parent is John Lennon you must be bombarded with requests for attention from every cause and every person. Julian Lennon is a Grammy nominated singer and songwriter and apparently quite the humanitarian.
Lennon started The White Feather Foundation in 2007. White Feather is a humanitarian organization working to lessen the impact of extreme poverty and distress in Kenya; in the Amazon Basin; in Sri Lanka; in Peru and in Gambia as well as funding ecological projects in England. The organizations name is directly from his dad,”Dad once said to me, that should he pass away, if there was some way of letting me know he was going to be ok – that we were all going to be ok – the message would come to me in the form of a White Feather

Julian is now 50 years old. Living in the shadow of that infamous last name has had no obvious public negativity. How did he escape the ‘wild child’ celeb spotlight and evolve into a successful and conscious adult? Considering his social level within Beatle land its a wonder he’s not a bitter old man.
If you recall he wasn’t a great pal with John. Bitter words as being “conceived out of a whiskey bottle” and the Facebook rant over shunning in 2011 (why do people bitch on Facebook so much?) : Julian wrote, “Wow… Snubbed at Macca’s wedding, snubbed at the anniversary of LOVE in Vegas! Snubbed at Macca’s wedding reception in NYC… Snubbed at George Harrison’s film premiere… What have I done to be ignored in such a way? I was not invited to ANY of these events… I thought we had a relationship … Obviously not… Gimme some truth… Maybe now it’s time to tell the Truth… I & My Mother will NOT be eradicated from history… How dare they.”
Well, he still is trying to do good and he has yet to change his last name so I suppose it’s all just blowing smoke. Here’s the promo vid for his organization.
