We as a society of fans need to figure out when enough is enough.  Tribute shows are out of control, we have holograms for corpses we have impersonators and we have “musicals based upon…”

London’s West End has been the home of the Queen ‘jukebox musical’ “We Will Rock You” for 12 years and now, well its coming to small town America.  Why its doomed to such small city venues is a good indication that this wouldn’t quite cut it in your major theater district.

The story revolves around ‘bohemians’ from the future who are try to save society from its cliche’ sameness and ban art.  Alrighty, there’s an interesting plot-line.  The show even carries characters with Queen inspired names like Galileo, Killer Queen and Scaramouche.

The comedy writen by Ben Elton (who created Mr Bean) has been in the US before, but as a Vegas show in 2004-2005.  The show circles around iconic tunes such as “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “We Are The Champions,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and (no surprise here) “We Will Rock You.”

Yes it sounds lame and yes I wonder why the brilliant guitarist Brian May allowed this to go down let alone co-created it.  He is an interesting guy but bits like this are so surprising.  Here are the tiny town dates

11/29-12/01- Schenectady, NY @ Proctors Theater
4/15- 4/20- Providence, RI @ Providence Performing Arts Center
4/25- 4/27- New Haven, CT @ The Schubert Theater
