Jack Clement – Country songwriter best known for “Guess Things Happen That Way” as well as a long career as a country pro, he produced Cash’s “Rings of Fire” as well as writing hits for as hits for hits for everybody from Elvis Presley to Cliff Richards. Jack died of lung cancer at the age of 84.

James Gray – Keyboardist for the hugely popular, in Canada any way which must count for something. Roots rocking Blues Rodeo, from the mid-1990s to 2005 when he quit. Blues Rodeo are a  fine rock band, try their “Lost Together”. Gray died of a heart attack, he was only 52 years old.

Marilyn King – the last of the the King Sisters, a mid-50s Andrew Sisters wannabes who covered big time Swing songs of the era, died at the age of 84.

Eydie Gorme – Sure, you think of Eyde and her husband Steve Lawrence, a sophisticated made for TV talk shows married duo who ransacked the Great American song book to pretty effect, though her biggest hit was the solo “Blame It On The Bossanova”. She was 84 years old

Jody Payne played with Merle Haggard, Hank Snow, Tanya Tucker until hunkering down with Willie Nelson from 1973 till he retired in 2008. He was 77 years old
