How many real metal bands do we get to hear? Every time I use the word metal in 203 there is some form of caveat around the word: thrash, or hardcore, or glam. Perhaps you can add a pre-fix with Eve And Adam as well: rock and roll metal.

The local talent quarter Eve and Adam are, according to their website, “Taki Sassaris (lead vocals), Alex Sassaris (drums), Gaurav Bali (lead guitar). Luis Espaillat has stepped in as the touring bassist. Adam Latiff (Puddle of Mudd) is the newest member, replacing Virus (Dope, Device) as touring rhythm guitarist”

Back in the 1970s we wouldn’t even consider their rhythmic crunch metal,  this anthemic hard rock is where modern rock is at at the moment, with excellent modern rock production qualities feeding into slam dunk songwriting. On September 17th, their third album Locked & Loaded will be released and last March the first song off the album dropped and it is killer,  “Straitjacket Supermodel” is a giant leap forward. I am not much of a boy for modern mainstream rock and roll, but if I was I’d go with Eve To Adam, formed back in 2007,  over Daughtry (who they’ve opened for) here: this is a thuddering shuddering banger.

Puddle Of Mud has long been my go to modern rock band, better than Daughtry and Linkin Park combined, and their bassist is joining Eve To Adam for their “Highway Robbery Tour”. Texas Hippie Coalition are the support act and fresh off their opening slot with Creed, ETA are at Gramercy Theatre Saturday night.

No doubt, the video will have the world up in arms, with one model being offed by the straitjacketed model  in question before a guy gets off in ways he hadn’t planned

If this is where you’re at, if modern metally rock is happening? These are the guys to see!
