Hello Big D!  Where the hell have I been and why have I not gushed about these guys before?  Big D and The Kids Table a Boston based ‘ska punk’ band literally blew me away at this years Warped Tour.  What bugged me is these guys have been around since 1995.  I have been under a rock.

To a hot sweaty crowd in the late day of Hartford’s Warped Tour stop their incredible energy transcended the physical exhaustion of anyone who was in attendance- and they drew a crowd.  Offering up some fast and complex rhythms with a unique vocal layering that implies more than a garage band.  These guys have massive talent and I venture to professional training. Its impossible to stay still with that ska beat. A sax is all you need for a party in my opinion and it was the perfect adrenaline injection to force this crowd into a second win.

Not much interaction with the crowd which really was fine with me.  I don’t want story time, and with the abbreviated Warped set it would have cut into a perfect transition from hardcore to dance.  Seems everyone knew the words but me but not next time.  “Shit Tattoos’ could well become my favorite tune of the year- yeah not new but new to me.  Big D can you swing by New England once Warped is over, please?

I claim to be a big ska fan and Big D made me realize I haven’t a clue about ska of 2013.  Shame on me and thank you to them.  Fabulous wonderful every superlative, your predecessors would be proud and from Boston no less.  Heads up these guys are not Mighty Mighty Bosstone ska- these kids are the real deal.
