Absolutely no one would call Courtney Love an intellectual. She is a hot mess train wreck who (when much younger) was joy to watch. Remember how she was pelting stuff at Madonna on the MTV awards all those years ago? Or how she pulled that white girl wasted bit on just about every talk show? Then suddenly she dropped 40 pounds and became an elegant ‘lady’ walking the red carpet. But then there she is jacking off on Twitter- so basically it is safe to say….the woman is just a tombstone in a party dress.
This being said Rolling Stone magazine gave the broad some time and some space in their horrible little rag. Which to me seems quite appropriate. Love is on a mini tour and according to my friend Matt did a wowzer of a job last Wednesday in the big city. Then again he loves Brittany ‘nuff said. Matt like so many others enjoys a hot mess girl, the type that always is drunk and often forgets their underwear in public places. So he is in fact what Courtney describes in her slur…“That’s my demographic –- smart guys that are hetero, a lot of gay guys, a lot of disaffected girls and some women that were like, ‘I grew up on you.’
‘Smart guys that are hetero’?, that’s the funny one cuz dumb guys don’t like her? She also does an infamous passive aggressive pout on the whole grunge scene. The last interview I had was with this guy where he was like, ‘Yeah, you were part of a movement 23 years ago that I find important: grunge and her band Hole’s niche in the scene. ‘No, we weren’t. We were no more grunge than the Chili Peppers.’ We weren’t allowed to be grunge. I wanted to be grunge because it was a movement, but no one would let me in. So as unique as the Chili Peppers were on their island, Hole has always been on its own little island. I’d also say the same for Nine Inch Nails and the Smashing Pumpkins back then.”
It’s a wonder the woman is still alive. I suppose with the tour and new album its just a matter of time before the curtains close. She is simply not stable enough and doesn’t have the proper handlers.
