"This Is The End" Reviewed (More Or Less)

Close friends dying

Even less than usually because I missed the first half hour. For the most part, I catch movies on the fly, you know, killing time before a concert starts (back in the day I would be drinking but that was then), so I choose a movie based on what time  it is airing and I woulda missed quarter of an hour any way but I got caught up at work and stumbled in well into the first half of hour.

Any way, the LA Comedy Mafia, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny Mcbride, Craig Robinson, Jonah Hill -plus James Franco, all play themselves and are all at a party at Franco’s house in L.A. when the apocalypse begins. As food, water, supplies and patience dwindles, the six friends (well, not McBride who wasn’t even invited to the party) battle the Anti-Christ and each other while trying to get saved from eternal damnation.

From masturbation to rape to possession to showbiz hypocrisy, Seth and Evan Goldberg who owed us one after The Green Lantern and delivered big time, lay on the laughs. Trust me, you haven’t laughed till you’ve seen the devil bugger Jonah Hill.

I will defefintely watch it from the get go one of these days before the apocalypse.

The music is excellent and the end, with Backstreet Boys in heaven, is especially fabulous.
