What? McCartney has turned electronic? Apparently he has! The 70-year-old Beatle will never finish to reinvent himself and he has just recorded with Italian artist Bloody Beetroots, ‘Out of Sight’, an epic electronica number which premiered on Rolling Stone this Friday.
I had never heard of this artist, but his real name is Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo – really? this is even weirder than his moniker but since Macca is a Sir too, it works perfectly – and he is famous for mixing electro house and dance-punk. Just like the Daft Punk guys, this Italian wears a ‘black Venom’ mask when he performs so that people don’t know what he looks like but can identify him by his 1977-birth-date tattoo across his chest. That sounds interesting!
If you listen to the song below, you’ll hear it is some grandiose stuff, ready for huge arena sport stadiums… it had some wow effect for me, with McCartney crooning over piano keys and a bombast chorus ready to propel you toward the high spheres of EDM. But it is actually much more Wings than rave party at Electric Daisy Carnival:
