His family don’t.
If you read Alyson’s post on Smith’s childhood one thing is abundantly clear. His sister is speaking in euphemisms when she says Elliott wouldn’t want his mother hurt. Let me translate: if Smith’s family call out Chiba, Chiba will scream from the roof tops that Smith’s step-father abused Elliott (which he admits) and sexually molested Elliott (which he denies). There is a very real chance the LAPD will arrest the step-father. That is exactly why Smith’s family can not pursue justice.
Jennifer Chiba:
My sister Feriel claims assisted suicide, but she’s a romantic. At best Chiba wants to get on with her life, but, Chiba is a proven LIAR and if she isn’t also lieing about being an art therapist the chances are excellent she knew CPR and first aid. We don’t know because the LAPD won’t subpoena her.
The LAPD:
Botch a case that was 101 handled by a lousy, lazy detective always up to his neck in trouble. They can’t raise the alarm because they didn’t secure the crime scene.
The hardcore fans:
Are sick of it after seven years and want to be left alone with the music since all that’s left to discuss is hesitation wounds and misspelled suicide notes.
The rest of the world:
Would rather know who shot Biggie.
