Goldenvoice has become such a powerful force here on the West Coast.

First, they have already announced the dates for Coachella 2014 (April 11-13rd and April 18-20th) , and you will already be able to get advanced tickets this Friday 24th May! Can you believe it? People have barely emerged from the torpor of last month festival and hipsters still have their 2013 Coachella bands around their wrists, that we are thinking about next year! And all this without a lineup in view before almost a year! How can you do that, buying a $400 pass without knowing whom you are gonna see? It’s a leap of faith that I am not quite ready to make.

Since we are at it, you want some predictions for 2014? Depeche Mode (they are playing again, and the Rolling Stones are done with their tour), Arcade Fire (they are about to drop a new album, aren’t they?), Daft Punk (they are the headliner rumored every year and they have a new album), Kayne West (he has a new album and he is Jesus!), and if Goldenvoice is extremely lucky, David Bowie? Err let’s stay realistic!

But Goldenvoice couldn’t stop there, just this week, they have announced a new 2-day festival in Monterey California on August 24th and 25th, with another crowded line-up that will make the whole Silver Lake-Echo Park population drool from envy: Modest Mouse, Passion Pit, MGMT, Neko Case, Beach House and Toro Y Moi, 30 bands in total that should please the most indie of the Coachella crowd.

Did we need another music festival? I don’t know but I am sure the tickets are gonna fly when they go on sale this Friday May 31st, at $149.50 plus fee.
