A Bonded ESelectron Writes

Hey, Iman and Alyson:
GO GO GO!
Wave those red flags and charge the LAPD fort!
I just wanted to cheer you on. The truth is a lonely place.
Years ago I had the “experience” of following a “murder by mysterious
circumstances” through to the bitter conclusion (no, I didn’t commit the
offense). The victim I knew was also painted with the broadly brushed
stroke of public perception —and, talk about a sloppy paint
job. Assumptions about a victim shouldn’t be a defining factor when investigating a death. Seems like common sense to look under the rug when you’re cleaning house.
Being a newly “bonded” ESelectron (a totally uncharacteristic reaction
to a musician on my part — except maybe for P. Smith.) perhaps I am a
bit over zealous in my cheering you on. What’s more embarrassing — I
only “found” Mr. Smitht his past January via a Chet Baker YouTube
search for Let’s Get Lost— serendiPITY, it took so long —Where have I
been? Let’s put it this way — I don’t really read music blogs,
either, but somehow I found you guys, too. NO MATTER. Meanwhile, I’ve
been firmly swept up in the ES centrifugal force. He’s proof positive
that flesh, blood, talent, principles, craftsmanship, artistry, AND
kindness can comprise the stuff of a music “star” —sans the
ubiquitous sleight of hand and hackneyed professionalism that marketing
demands of its product.

Corporate radio missed a real supernova in ES, and, damn, now, he
really is the stuff of stars. I’m a musician myself (who isn’t?), but, I
can unequivocally state that I do NOT fit in w/ the music biz.(I’m a
jazz vocalist w/dimples and a hard rock/metal background –I have no

country!) ES floors me with his no-holds barred-palpable integrity and
his allegiance to his muse— the undeniabletruth as artistic essence.
I’m soooooo hoping someone plies the lid off this travesty — not for
the purposes of retribution or vengeance or morbidity —but, because,
it seems, the circumstances of his demise were not investigated
thoroughly (at best) , or (at worst) seeminglydone properly. (But, then, I’m
one for sifting through the punishing details in everything I do. Some
people don’t like it.) I’m guessing that family and friends can’t
publicly press for a more aggressive investigation because of pending
lawsuits? Plus, it’s gotta hurt.

In any case, it’s up to the rest of the “citizenry” to wave the red
flags. Sloppy investigations bode badly for us all. I realize
that Clementine (and Ferdinand) are lost and gone forever — BUT —
that’s not any kind of a reason to let a bad investigation go unchecked.
Where’s Dr. G when you need her?

HUZZAH for your chutzpah, Alyson and Iman.
