Chicago's Riot Fest; Is This Line Up Legit?

Gettin’ Festy with it.

We are bombarded by Festivals.  It must save a lot to have one event with multiple artists and it certainly makes for a diverse event.  Despite the dogs out there- most fests offer something for everyone and actually offer you things you didn’t even know you wanted to love.

What the hell is up Chi Town!  The lineup is absurd, the dates of September take a bit of the Summer heat off and the venues are…perfection.  I have always loved Chicago and have wanted to return for years now.  I now would be insane for NOT spending a nice three day weekend in the windy city.

Riot Fest 2013 has a lineup that is almost surreal.  Brand New, Fall Out Boy……Selecter?  Bayside, All Time Low..Blondie?  Its as if they planned the mother and child reunion right there.  Three days at a fair price (seriously Skate and Surf, get a grip) this event is travel worthy.  If not jaw dropping- I mean its almost like being punked in its perfection.

In its eighth year they claim another headliner will be announced beside Fall Out Boy and Blink 182.  Hmmm wonder who.  Who else?  Well sit down and read this madness,  Motörhead, Rancid, Guided By Voices, Peter Hook, Blondie, Public Enemy, the Dismemberment Plan, AFI, Rocket from the Crypt, the Selecter, Bad Religion, Quicksand, Dinosaur Jr., Bob Mould, Against Me!, Flag, Bad Brains, Glassjaw, Sublime with Rome, Violent Femmes, Mission of Burma, Taking Back Sunday, Screeching Weasel, X, Gwar, Smoking Popes, Stars, Toots and the Maytals, Atmosphere, Best Coast, the Lawrence Arms, Brand New, Surfer Blood, the Dear Hunter, Say Anything, Pennywise, Dessa, Saul Williams, Chuck Ragan, Bad Books, All Time Low, Pierce the Veil, Devotchka, Yellowcard, the Broadways,  the Lillingtons, the Devil Wears Prada, Reggie and the Full Effect, Attack Attack!, Maps and Atlases, Chuck Ragen, Empires, Mephiskapheles, Kitten, Peelander-Z, Touche Amore, Masked Intruder, Deal’s Gone Bad, Twin Peaks, Flatfoot 56, White Mystery, Environmental Encroachment, Radkey, and No D’Bags Allowed. And more bands are expected to be announced.

Pricing on this is dodgy, as you wait the cost rises.  So buy now if you want to save some coin.  This may be the ‘don’t miss’ fest of 2013.  So don’t. http://www.riotfest.org/
