Tim McGraw And the Home Front Foundation

Of all the male country singers who wander the US singing about pick-up trucks and true love none is as annoying as the dire Tim “Touchdown Jesus” McGraw, a man who seems to think with his drawal. There is a sentiment he can’t make false and a song he doesn’t bathe in bathos . I wouldn’t believe him if said he loved his daughter. I  can’t bear him.

BUT… Tim’s got this going for him: on every one of his 31 date “Two Lanes ON Freedom” tour he will be giving away a fully renovated, mortgage free gome to a veteran’s family. This is the second year he is doing it and I, unlike my bullheaded co-editor Helen Bach, support the veterans of America and think it is a great charity and a wonderful cause.

McGraw said in a statement: “”Launching our HomeFront program made last summer so much more special than I could have originally imagined. I can honestly say that I got as much – or more – out of the experience than the veterans who received the new homes and assistance.

“These families made an incredible mark on me, and I’m more grateful than I’ve ever been for the sacrifices they make every day to serve our country. I’m just honored to be a part of this program, and I look forward to working with Chase and Operation Homefront to take it even.”

The first responsibility of Government is to protect its citizens and without a strong militia you will soon find how easy it is to lose your country. Look at my home, Lebanon. Easily the finest country in the Middle East, without a strong militia it devolved into a million tiny militias and dissolved into decades of civil war. Easy prey for Israel and Syria to fight proxy wars.

The miracle of the US is the same thing didn’t happen and once the Civil war was over, the country managed to come together and the people who protect it put their lives in danger are patriots. Good for McGraw.
