Must See: Jack Phillips At Don't Tell Mama In May!

Cafe Nights Comes Alive!!! Before Jack Phillips changes  genre's yet again, his eagerly anticipated new album will be all blues and boogie, here is an opportunity to hear his last album, a personal favorite of mine, Cafe Nights In New York, performed live.

Jack will be performing 6 standards and 8 originals, and off the new album assume (or at least hope!) we will be getting the modern standard "Take Me To Manhattan" , personal best "The Old Gray Hat" and lovely indeed "I remember Paris" with its Edith Piaf sample, Jack is a big Bobby Short fan and personally, I am hoping he tries his hand at  "Manhattan" -you know, "we'll have Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island, it's lovely going through the Zoo", You know what you can do with your "Empire State Of Mind".

So much was gained when Elvis Presley rebooted the universe, but so much was left as well and with all the will in the world, Michael Buble can't do it all by himself. In 2013 the 1950s, not to mention the roaring 20s, are history and what is left is mostly folks playing the book. Phillips decided tow rite a new book on American standards… it is time we got behind him.
