Steve Buscemi Wants To Save Vampire Weekend's Career

Steve Buscemi meets Vampire weekend and it’s awkward,… of course it’s a mockumentary, at least I hope so! The meeting is so random that you have to understand the reason: Chris Baio found out on a genealogy website that his maternal great grandmother was first cousins with Buscemi’s paternal great aunt,… at this vague degree, aren’t we all related?

So Buscemi arrived in the middle of a rehearsal and says the oddest things after mistaken Chris Tomson for Chris Baio, but who can blame him?

‘Are you the DJ?’ He asked to Rostam Batmanglij after fooling around with some knobs and giving the band a few direct advices. ‘I don’t always understand the songs, to be honest’… ‘Let’s try to write a song that people can understand’… which let the four guys totally speechless… ‘Some of the references I don’t get at all. Sometimes I have to look them up. And I’m just wondering […] if the songs were more accessible…then you might have a bigger following?’

Lost between Peter Gabriel and Louis Vuitton references, Buscemi plays the perfect obnoxious idiot, pretending to ask questions and providing all the patronizing answers.

Actually, the actor-director will direct a live stream of Vampire Weekend’s American Express Unstaged concert at Roseland Ballroom on April 28th and apparently, he can’t wait to help them raise their profile,… because he cares like a lost great cousin after all.
