It has been a cold hard winter up here in the Northeast. The natives are restless after far too much time being buried under snow and ice. Spring is here and that means only one thing to the hardcore kids of New England. Metal Fest. Three days of the heaviest sounds sure enough to melt the pipes and more.
There will be blood, there will be missing teeth and there will be outstanding shows from some of THE best hardcore and metal acts in the world.
This is the third year running that rocknyc will be there, and get this, this festival is celebrating its 15th year. Impressive? Yes indeed considering this ever changing group of fans and style it’s a tribute to the coordinators to get this thing going and keep it timely. So who’s playing? I’ll give you 10 of the 20+ bands A DAY who are playing. Hardcore Fest is three jam packed days of sweat. Legends like Anthrax and Opeth headline Friday and Saturday and my personal HOOOAH, Suicidal Tendencies heads up Sunday Night. Screw work or school, to miss these guys would be a crime, if only to say…’ hey man I knew you back in the day’.
Nostalgia with a kick in the ass and we are there reporting from the pit through it all. Be there- or be very sorry. C’mon its being held at the legendary Worcester Palladium in Worcester Massachusetts. This is BY FAR the most aggressive venue I have ever been to. Humans fly in mid air it’s a complete circus with THE best security staff I have encountered in my decades of live hardcore So stoked.
