This seems to be a subject for me as I frequent a school 5 days a week, I like cats and I know about OFWGKTA, contrarily to the large majority of my colleagues… but teachers at Tyrrell Middle School seem to know very well about LA kids’ favorite rap-punk-gang.
Connecticut school officials have banned a famous shirt showing an image largely promoted by the band, the famous cat head with hollow eyes and an upside down cross on the forehead. According to NBC, they declared that this cat ‘stands for something vile’,… this is insane, although there is no doubt they have heard about Odd Future’s violent and controversial lyrics.
I have never heard of a ban on a Marilyn Manson’s shirt for example, so that says a lot about how powerful Odd Future has become. But the whole thing is totally ridiculous! At my school, there is a student who is always wearing OFWGKTA shirts, if he ever has some problems, I will be surely protesting!
