C'mon guys you didn't think that was it didja? All that 'anniversary' hoopla, that couldn't be the end all of it. A few measly tour dates and a video? These are THE Rolling Stones, theres always more.
So welcome to phase two. A reported 18 additional dates with nods in LA and Seattle, yet no other dates announced as of yet, Those five shows for the 50th anniversary were just a teaser apparently.
Rolling Stone announced it so it must be true…right? Billboard reported that the band will play "fewer than 20" arena dates in North America, with Australian promoter Paul Dainty and Virgin music promoting the tour.
"May 2nd is the launch day," says another source. "I've heard West Coast cities – L.A. And Seattle. But I think they're going to do some back East as well."
It would be the band's first major tour since 2005-2007's A Bigger Bang. Now rocknyc was at a couple of the Stones shows including the 12/12/12 benefit for Hurricane Sandy Relief. I don't recall any 'blown away' thrill from there shows as of late but at 50 years in career, legend holds over 'wow factor' and their stage looked odd
This latest go round is sure to sell out in seconds and leave fans screaming for more. As mentioned, the full tour calendar has yet to be revealed but I'm fairly certain New York will get a visit again and maybe a touch down in Boston? Time will tell- stay tuned
