What's up with these to freaks? First let me pause to say I worship them both. They're both a bit 'not right in the head (nor am I)' but really why is Bowie being such an ass lately?
Ok, new album .. hurrah, lame first surprise single. We all cheered it on cuz it was your birthday and it was totally unexpected. So kudos to you for fine marketing of a dog recording. The second, a bit less lame but the video won over a few folks.. me? I'm waiting for more.. c'mon if you're going to swan song on us give us something to rally with, not something to whimper over.
So, as we all know Bowie forbid Morrissey from using his photo in the release of the single "Last of the International Playboys". First off- WHY ARE YOU RE RELEASING THIS AGAIN? Second.. Bowie seriously you were foxy in 92, you'd think you'd want that pic in circulation. Or are you afraid? You're far more frail now.. not aging well with health concerns and Morrissey well aside from his fucking esophagus falling out and massive case of acid reflux, he's looking fab.
Soo… is it that? The vanity of comparison? I can see that as a possibility. Comparing a the two is simply unfair. Bowie is fragile and pale Morrissey still holding court quite well. I think, that this is the true issue. Both were considered sex symbols and both are notorious for their primping. But why else? Lovers quarrel? Morrissey chose Rick Astley the singer responsible for the line 'never gonna give you up never gonna let you down' as the image to accompany the single. Referring to it as 'Rickrolled' Could this be a sign?
Bowie making such over a fuss simply makes him the clear winner. Bowie is the bigger ass in this scenario. By not allowing the image to be used he is drawing more attention to the fact that he just has lost his cool. C'mon Dave, what's up?
