Are you still with me? If you recall Lamb of God front man was charged with manslaughter from a 2009 incident. The charge suggested that Blythe was responsible for the death of a fan who fell from the stage during an altercation. Randy spent months in jail and without the assistance of his government was at the whim of the Czech Republics antiquated legal system.
This episode nearly took a year of Blythe's life. After spending months in jail he was released to the US with promise to appear at a court date in February. At that point I would have called it a day, never returned to the CR and told them to stick it. Blythe on the other hand vowed to fight for his innocence even after the postponement of trial.
But the day has come and it is official, he has been acquitted of all charges. This doesn't in any way lessen the sadness the community has on the death of a young fan but it does prove a few things.
Rockers are responsible (more than I am) Randy Blythe facing the music with such grace is pretty damn impressive. There was never public drama, he took it like a man and it was inspiring.
Daniel Nosik was only 19 years old when he lost his life at a rock show. That's a very sad fact that is easy to lose sight of. Unfortunately the US government never assisted Blythe in his defense and apparently they weren't needed.
I am thrilled this saga is over. I am happy with the outcome and I am inspired by Randy Blythe's handling of the entire situation.
