I am not sure it is real news, as these two seem to always be touring together! I know that, I read their mutual interactions on Twitter! Ted Leo and Aimee Mann have announced they have form a band together, called #BOTH, hashtag included? We totally have to blame the Twitter culture for this.
Aimee Mann posted this on her website, with already a few dates already:
#BOTH, a new collaboration of Aimee Mann and Ted Leo, will be showcasing songs they have written together as well performing some of their own original material. See their first shows ever at Largo in Los Angeles on March 8th and 9th and Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco on March 26th and 27th.’
Will they actually sit down together in a studio for a recording? It seems like it according to this YouTube video filmed last January at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. The song actually sounds totally like an Aimee Mann song until Ted Leo’s voice kicks in, but their voices sure harmonize very well together.
Sorry East-coasters, no dates for you yet! But Largo? Probably the dream place for these two, the Jon-Brion-Fiona-Apple-all-cool-indie-music refuge, picture-free zone that I definitively don’t frequent enough!
