I am a much bigger fan of DFA records in theory then i m in practice. In theory i worship James Murphy's cutting edge EDM house of house label. In practice, I go…
LCD Soundsystem
Holy Ghost
Shit Robot
The Rapture
Yacht
Prinzhorn Dance School
and that's about it.
So here is a list of the people performing at the Red Bull academy Presents produced show from 9pm to 4am (yes, AM) at Grand Prospect Hall: "with James Murphy plus The Rapture DJs, Black Dice, Juan Maclean, Pat Mahoney, The Crystal Ark, YACHT, Benoit & Sergio, / hit Robot, Planningtorock, Prinzhorn Dance School, Still Going, Nancy Whang, / Tim Sweeney, Larry Gus, Dan Bodan, Marcus Marr"
Obviously LCD won't be there, but no Holy Ghost? Did they jump ship and i missed it? There is something about this ultra cool indie meets ultra ultra cool House bands that suggests a place to be and not a place to go to: every sound seems to tailored towards something else. Like the rapture, the strangest band on Earth, they seem to exude an anotherness in the face of a type of philosophical bent of bent out of shape rock and roll bouncing just as written.
But still, it looks pretty interesting, doesn't it? I think it is something like "Sleep no More' where people go from floor following nay musical flow of sound nd thought they want to, it is like a distorted sensuality of poetic things going clang in the night. I mean, talking about cutting edge, right? This is just showing off, an abundance of riches and a must see of course. 4am??? That is one late long show… I will wait around for the Rapture but that's all I'm promising…
