3OH!3 Are Back

3OH!3 were the sound of 2008, approximately.  I remember going to see them at Toads Place in New Haven, CT- I have never seen performers move faster.  I don't know what was in their RedBull but they were fired up to the point of it being impossible to take a photograph.  They appeared as streaks- it was unnerving.  In the sweaty pit of a hole Toads is…the crowd produced enough sweat to free the world from drought.

Then the kids got a swing at Warped Tour and again I was impressed with the ridiculous amount of energy.  These guys proceeded Breathe Carolina and when they belted out their hits such as "Don't Trust Me", it was insanity in the best of ways.   But then they hit the Kesha curse.  So sad that they paired up and it was just awful.

Word on the street is that they're back. The new album,  Omens, is due on June 18. Pre-orders for the album will officially get underway on "3OH!3 Day" – that is, March 3, or 3/03/13 – via the duo's own www.3oh3music.com.  Cute, huh?

The first single, "Back To Life" 's video will  debut on March 5 via The Warner Sound YouTube page. 3OH!3 also will co-headline this summer's Vans Warped Tour.

The question is then is it worth it.  Is this party rock really vogue anymore?  Their original fans have moved on to to other things and I cant imagine them pulling much of a fan base out of their wazzoo.  But Summer fests such as Warped are magical events.  There is no doubt their stages will be full and there is no doubt they'll be just a smidgen slower than they were at their start.  Question is- will they regain their spot as one of alt pops top dogs?
