Alright kids, grab your beer funnels and titty tassels because here comes your spring break 2013 anthem. “White Girl Wasted” is a nonstop thrill of a party song and has already been spreading like wildfire through college campuses, starting with my own, and the artist’s own, Connecticut College, and going on to frats and dorms alike across New England. DMIZE, a real chill guy in person who you wouldn’t expect to have a crazy good mixtape under his belt, explodes on this track and brings a masterful song composition to the table that I would have expected of a professional artist with experience. But who the fuck needs experience when you already know how to compose a brilliant song right?
The chorus of “White Girl Wasted” says a lot – “Fuck sitting at home on the couch, done feelin alone tryna figure you out, I don’t even care what your name is. Tonight I’m getting WHITE GIRL WASTED” – and the verses of the song say even more, thoroughly establishing DMIZE’s crazy personality in one song. However, with a dizzying beat and killer hook, how can anyone even do anything besides party to this song? I can already hear scores of inebriated college kids shouting along to “Shots, shots! You want one more, you aint done til you hit the floor!”
Whether or not “White Girl Wasted” is the track that’ll get DMIZE some serious recognition is not of import, considering this is only the tip of the iceberg. Every sample I have heard from DMIZE suggests an artist who knows both how to compose a great song and how to compose a great song that everyone will fuckin love. “White Girl Wasted” has been released for public consumption as of February 19th and the video’s description on Youtube has a free download link for the song which I suggest you all make use of.
