Morrissey Victory! LA's Staples Center Bans All Meat During March 1st Show

Paul McCartney…yeah SIR Paul McCartney the BEATLE tried to get Los Angeles' Staple Center to go veg for his show and was denied.

The 20,000 seat venue has mandated that all vendors not serve 'flesh as food' that evening and, at the request of the singer, the McDonald's concession will not open

The singer said in a statement 'I don't look upon it as a victory for me but a victory for the animals.'

The Staples Center will also donate a portion of the ticket sales to PETA.  How on Earth did this guy pull this off?  Considering he is now officially the king of cancelation its a wonder any of his shows don't come with a clause, let alone be granted concessions.,

I wonder what the financial loss will be for The Staples Center.  Just how many Big Macs are sold during a concert?  I have never purchased food at a gig.  i think I ate popcorn once during Sesame Street Live when my kid was 2 but otherwise I would think its somewhat cumbersome.

But as an animal advocate Morrissey has certainly made some waves on this recent tour.  Between the 'Meat Is Murder' film during the performance to representation from PETA in venue lobbies, he is making his beliefs part of his show.  For someone who has always carried the moody negative image he is certainly using positive promotion to enlighten the listener.  Despite the 'preaching to the choir' of it all, I for one would appreciate entering a venue and not smell the repulsive stench of spinning hot dogs.

Thanks Morrissey!
