When I read the news, I remember seeing her on Dateline just a few weeks ago! Country singer Mindy McCready is dead at 37 of what seems to be a suicide. It’s extremely sad especially because she is leaving two little boys behind, and the father of the youngest one is dead too!
This is the thing, when I saw Mindy McCready on TV she was talking about the violent death of her boyfriend David Wilson, who was also found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on January 13th. On the show, she denied any involvement in his death declaring he was her soulmate: ‘I just started screaming, calling 911, I lay down next to him and just just pleaded with him not to die.’ Wilson did not die immediately and was rushed to the hospital, but the investigation as to the cause of death remains open, and the Sheriff declared that tests to determine whether it was suicide or murder would be back in a few weeks.
However, McCready had an affair with former New York Yankees star Roger Clemens and there were also rumors Wilson also had an affair, something McCready denied on Dateline. And to finish the picture, she struggled with drug and alcohol problems in the past, and her life had enough crazy stories to provide material for several years of a soap opera. What a mess this story is!
Now, nobody is saying she killed her boyfriend because he was having an affair, and then killed herself a few weeks later because she felt under heavy suspicion. She said she didn’t hear the gunshot because her TV was on at high volume? I am not saying anything, but this very dramatic story is not over. I just hope the Arkansas police handles the case better than the LAPD did for the Elliott Smith’s case.
