UpRoar Hartford took place on 9/11. That 10th anniversary of the tragic event that we cant possibly ever forget.. since its on every media forum every day always.
A great concert took the opportunity to create this tribute montage. A special check presentation was done as a charity gesture for Firefighters. Nice enough I suppose and well moments of silence are rather interesting to me. I was told by Mary Magpie and our guest writer Olivia Sayah that the crowd was also chanting "Narnia' and 'France' during the forceful "U S A!!!!!!" blasts. That made me happy.
You see there is a time and place for everything. If I just threw down $100. to be entertained I really don't care to see some half baked metal star tell me his feelings. I don't care. I don't care how J-Lo feels about it either. If I want an opinion, i will find it on my own. I didn't know Russell Brand was a vegan- right there I respected him more. Why? cuz hes not jamming his beliefs down my throat or trying to educate me- he simply makes me laugh.
A fundraiser is a great an voluntary thing. If a portion of your ticket cost went to a charity I damn well better know about it before I swipe my card.
