After the success of 4TheLove Music Fest NYC at Don Hills this past August, I have been ambitiously planning and executing the next episode in the 4TheLove movement.
4TheLove Music and Art’s Festival will be held Thursday, October 21st in downtown Wilmington at local hotspot The Soap Box.
After receiving so much support from the local music and art community, we knew we were on the right track. This fest will be featuring many local artists, ranging from painters, jewelry and t-shirt designers, photographers, spray artists, including live art through out the night.
As far as music goes, Fuzzy G and Co. have returned to the 4TheLove stage for this one. Joining them will be Wilmington locals, heavy blues band SweetSweetScum, consisting of musical renaissance men Trevor Brown and Ben Jamison, rock band One Shot Johnny, DJs Libraries and Golden, ( who is also house DJ for the night), and emcees Mac Boi and 1st Infantry.
The Libraries recently opened for Bassnectar a few weeks back, and have been busy cooking new music ever since, I like to describe them as a disco-influenced electro-soul group; pretty solid. I am getting impatient to see Mac Boi spit his best up on stage again, he kills his verse on Fuzzy’s ‘Lady in the Water’ and will showcase his newest raps as well. SHAKEDOWN. However, I am not convinced that Wilmington is ready for all of this, unfortunately our rap scene is currently non-existent. Not for long my friends, along w Mac Boi, 1st Infantry will have way with the crowd, delivering high energy flows, on stage free styles and other entertaining antics.
Aunt Pollys Glass Eye, a nue metal band from a few miles away will certainly keep the party rocking until the wee hours of the morning, and unlike NYC, that only means 2am, 2:30 tops. Their bass player is only like 16 but oh my god he can sure rip it. This guys show up to play, and give a great show; go big or go home.
We are also getting graced with reggae band Selah Dubb for a few songs, as they will be in the down stairs of the same venue hosting a charity event raising money to help women with eating disorders, 4TheLove will also be donating a portion of our nightly take to the same charity, along with three others.
Check back soon for a 4TheLove update, showtime is less than 2 weeks away.. SHAKEDOWN!
