Me And The Moon – The Drums – Morrissey's faves are also my faves since an excellent performance on Halloween last year. This is NOT OFF THEIR DEBUT and finds the band sounding like the Smiths in the best mood of their lives.
2. S. Carter – Jay-Z – Off Hova's much maligned Vol 3. I liked the album fine and the title of this songs rhymes with "harder" and "nada". I'll leave you to figure out why.
3. Psykick Dancehall – The Fall – The seven ascending notes near the beginning has you holding your breath before the song even Psykicks off proper and the last two lines of the chorus, I recommend to Jungian's everywhere.
4. F666 The Police (feat Tyler, The Creator) – Mellowhype – They ain't Odd Future and they ain't Tyler . so they're third on the list of great posses 2011. This ain't the NWA track either, but it is pretty terrific.
5. Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know – Britney Spears – As Brit morphs into an avatar, this early ballad reminds you where she came from.
6. Someone To Watch Over Me – Art Garfunkle – His pristine falsetto is well suited to the classic.
7. Rattled By The Rush – Pavement – Their best song EVER.
8. Breakin' Up – Rilo Kiley – Before they did, AT&T disrupted their romance.
9. Jersey Girl – Live – Bruce Springsteen And the E Street Band – I don't know who deserves more credit. Tom Waits wrote it in 1980 but it is a little out of place on Heartattack And Vine), Bruce covered it and put it on his Live 1975 – 1985, thereby widening its audience and making it his own. I've heard it play it live a number of towns and it always gets a huge response.
10 Hallal (Baris K remix) – Nazan Soray – Now I've heard more of Nazan's work, I can appreciate Istanbul DJ Baris K's gifted remix. This is a producer changing genre's on a Turkish pop star.
