Yes some wide assed geek with some digital equipment spent hours working on this one and I bet you a buck that Slipknot is glad.
Cuz the old has beens like to hang on to the new kids coat tails in hopes to survive. Slipknot is dead, it died before Paul but its really dead now. They're a parody and I bet alot of death metal fans consider them poser at the finest. They are and they annoy me but they don't exist anymore and Cory Taylor fluctuates from cool mutha to a big freakin assbag in the blink of an eye. Someone get that guy a PR firm to monitor his tripe he contradicts himself so often its embarrassing.
So back to this lovely video.
I like it.
I like it cuz its almost so 'WTF" moment that its performance art. The mid way rap is priceless. Beibers handholding Lady Diana 'upward puppy eyes' (seriously pause.. take a moment.. Beiber..Princess Di… similar? very) against the satanic worship pentagram of Slipknot is superb.
The song it self is actually tolerable cuz its so incredibly wrong. Its a car crash you don't want to look but you pause just the same. I have said before and will say again that I love covers and 'mash ups' (when did that category come up anyway? Remember the song 'Stars on 45'? yeah. ya don't) I think they're mindless fun and some are quite clever.
This on the other hand is so brow furrowing that I need a Motrin. But I have watched it three times so far.
