I love when those who play acoustic guitar pound the fuck out of it. You can strum til pigs fly but if you smack the strings it can sound so punk. The acoustic guitar on "Only Ray of Sunshine" could legally file assault charges against Wesley Wolfe
The song is so amazingly contagious, the lyrics are so well done . Some great hook lines too. I would call this my new favorite if not for 1 little thing. It makes me sad cuz its so trivial but as much as a great hook can win a song over so can the misplacement of a words emphasis.
If he would have only said the word 'shine' just smidge different Id be hawking this single like a carnival barker.
On listen number 4 now and still wish that damn word was said without twang. But I think I can get past it, its worth it.
The lyrics are those of an indie boy with student loans, I presume. A bit plaid, a bit too much unwashed laundry, but not so much that it makes me want to pop him in the head for being a hipster.
This is a great song with some power behind it and I realize now , (on listen 5) that Mr. Wolfe has an absolutely beautiful speaking and singing voice.
Id like to hear more please.
