1. Rockstar – A Great Big World – Written before they hit it big, this is a very good song about tempting to daydream about a future yet to be realized, a self-portrait waiting to come true and the meaning of success if there is one: “Take a ticket and get on the line..” Which they did – B+

2. The Last Time – The Rolling Stones – This is unreal, the riff is all crunch and the rhythm section the hammer on the nail and Jagger exudes an animal sexuality even as he deals with her infidelity – A+

3. Crystalised – Young The Giant – One of their better tracks off the iffy newbie, catchy sweet nothing – B+

4. Blue Moon – Beck – His first new material (i mean, new material he has actually recorded) in years and his voice sounds so much older… strange – B+

5. Paranoid – Ty Sollar $ign – New heights of sexism!! – B

6. Keep It Healthy – Warpaint – Acoustic indie chick band – B

7. Beam Me Up – Cazzette – Cool vocal for modern disco track – B+

8. I.Z.Z.O. (H.O.V.A.) – Jay Z – A classic of rampant egotism and I still can’t decide whether to go or not today – A

9. True Trans Rebel – Against Me! – It’s beenaround for awhile now but this finished recording is pretty excellent and very catchy – A

10.

Wouldn’t It Be Nice – The Beach Boys – Every time I hear it that opening bass drum blows my mind further away – A
