– This Probably Won’t End Well – All That Remains – Is this a new thing? Songs that start like full blown ballads before finding their feet and becoming what they are? Anyway, the album ain’t great but this is a terrific slice of angst-emo-coredom – B+
– Up Above My Head – Rhiannon Giddens – This is one of the best versions I’ve ever heard, it is a Gospel rockabilly romp that finds the song in the heart where most of the versions I’ve heard are blues workouts that don’t – A
– The Killer Instinct – Black Star Rides – Not sweet enough for Phil, no, but tough enough – B+
– All Your fault – Big Sean – Kanye West is real good on jay Z tracks, otherwise… OK, not bad, pretty good – B
– Falling Apart – Emilie Haynie – The background harmonies are great, the rest of it isn’t much – B-
– Ain’t Enough Whiskey – Kid Rock – Walking southern blues but he has seemed to have lost what made him special – C-
– So Oh – The Charlatans – Wow, these guys are all backstory… somebody should make a movie… musically, the Madchester lads, or what’s left of them, are good enough to keep going – B
– All You Need Is Love – Noel Gallagher – This guy has a crap voice – C+
– What A Life – Juliana Hatfield – A golden oldie from her second best album – A-
– Our Own House – MisterWives – Lively but the song doesn’t stick – B-
