1. Runaway Dreamer – Sophie Ellis-Bextor – The album drags me but this is a clever pop rock MORer which snapped the UK to attention, not least because Sophis is a popular model, but also because the song is as catchy as this kinda stuff can kind – A

2. Rather Be – Clean Bandits -The mix of classical instrumentation and EDM promises as big as any post-Avicii band is gonna get, should break Stateside – A

3. Pay It Back – Elvis Costello -The story of good Catholic boy caught between the doctor and the magistrate – A+

4. Real Gone Jive – Li’l Mo And The Monicats – Highlight of Saturday’s gig and swings harder – A

5. Australia  – The Shins – The height of James Mercer skills, and after this, I mean the entire album, he winced his way to the lusy follow up and worse Broken Bells – A

6. Easy – John Newman -Nice nice nice sweet soul music, timeless stuff – B+

7. Go Or Go Ahead – Rufus Wainwright –  Beautiful ballad seriously underplayed  till the midway when it takes off – B+

8. Two Coffins – Against Me! – Written for his daughter… “One day soon there will be nothing left of you and me…” Wow, that’s comforting – B

9. Sweet Season – Carole King – The passing of time has never been expressed quite this clearly, as a series of seasons passing by in a blur of time, of years, of the delicious tingle of growth and age – A+

10. Mirror Me – Cate Le Bon – This is the most Welch-y song I’ve heard from her, with an atmospheric church organ and a ghostly sense of dislocation – A
