Less a reboot than a rejoin, the 68 minute "Winnie The Pooh" returns to the 100 acre Wood and finds Christopher Robin's friends Winnie, Piglet, Owl (voiced by a great Craig Ferguson), Tigger, Kanga Roo, Rabbit and Eeyore who has lost his tail. The friends go off to find it, Winnie starves for honey.
Meanwhile, CR leaves a not for his stuffed animals, he will be "Backson" which Owl claims is a terrifying creature. The Backson, The mythical creature who scribbles in your books, makes you sleep too late, wake up babies at 1 and 3".
Everything ends fine, it is a fun, though maybe a little much for an overgrown baby like me (I kept changing the word "honey" to "pussy" to kill the time. The animation is gorgeous, John Cleese as the narrator is spotless, all the voices sound just like they always have and the story is silly and fun.
Oh, and the music. All of Zooeys and M's songs are wonderful but "The Backson Song" is a modern masterpiece and I recommend to punk rock bands everywhere as a great litany of lifes small tragedies. The animation here, a blackboards images (http://youtu.be/BpiD21jtWGA) is the best in the movie and the best line: "They won't relax!"
