We have not discussed the South By Southwest Festival taking place in Austin Texas this week. Though our kids Shinobi Ninja are there along with hundreds of other bands.
Converging on Austin like pioneers to the promise land, South By Southwest or SWSX as its dubbed, is a music extravaganza.
We most likely are shunning it cuz we arent there.

“The SXSW® Music and Media Conference showcases hundreds of musical acts from around the globe on over eighty stages in downtown Austin. By day, conference registrants do business in the SXSW® Trade Show in the Austin Convention Center and partake of a full agenda of informative, provocative panel discussions featuring hundreds of speakers of international stature.”
Ok, to summerize this is a giant musical trade show. Filled with big cheeses and little slices hucksters and hobo’s and its in Texas where its warm. Any up and comer worth their sand is there.. No lie, bands we’ve covered here such as Rocket Summer, Andrew WK, Hesta Prynn, SHE WANTS REVENGE and others (now Im just ready to cry) are there…yup.. making great things happen.
We are not there.. but I’m watching it and Im checking it out cuz hell no way are those Cowpokes gonna catch on to new cool stuff before us uptight Northerners.
