Robert Moog invented a synthesizer and in turn a created a movement and a shift in musical thought. Today, for the first time since the 80s, electronic music is ruling pop music again. It is only appropriate to celebrate Moog’s accomplishments by holding a massive concert in his name in his backyard of Asheville, NC.
Names like MGMT, Cee Lo Green, Big Boi, RJD2, Thievery Corporation, Girl Talk, Dam Funk, etc. will pay tribute over the last weekend of October.
Apparently most of the performers play Moog’s instruments – the Minimoog Voyager, the Little Phatty, the Etherwave Theremin, Moogerfoogers, and the new Moog Guitar – which should make things even more interesting.
