One of the saddest things that ever happened in pop mucis history when was Kanye west, just in support of his pal Beyonce, interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for the 2009 Best Female Vocalist VMA for “You Belong To Me” and left a speechless Tay on stage while he claimed it for Bey.
The two are no longer close friends and a lifetime of having each others back to the point where there were rumors at the time they might tour together came to light.
Rock nyc is close with both artists and have come up with the perfect solution, Tay and Yeezus should tour together. Can you imagine the synergy…?
1. You Belong To Me – Taylor would come out on stage alone. Where is Kweez? Has he stormed off home, having a hissy fit? Changed his mind? And the song? The one she won the 2009 VMA for. Suddenly the spotlight goes to Kanye in the front row, he has been here all the time. Grabs the mic from Taylor, “Imma let you finish Tay”, he says to huge applause “but first sing this with me”.
2. Runaway – The duo trade verses on the song and when the chorus arrives, Tay changes it, “Here’s to the running backs, everyone that I know”. “I didn’t even swear” claims at the end.
3. State Of Grace – Here we get down to it, Taylor alone acoustic version like the “Target” Special.
4. Speak Now – Here she lifts the energy level
5. Stronger – But now the energy is really through the roof, as Kanye takes over and slams one out.
6. Monster – And the second slam dunk, so now the audience is through the roof and banging on the walls.
7. Empire State Of Mind – How about a cover with Tay taking Alicia’s chorus!!!
8. I Can’t Help It If I’m Still In Love With You – Meanwhile Yeeez and tay become a modern day Kenny and Dolly but with a Hank Williams cover.
9. Taylor takes over with three sure shots, “22”, 10. “Tim McGraw” and 11. “Teardrops On My Guitar”. Awww…
12. Robocop – But Kanye out mopes her!
13. Golddigger – Kanye calls a woman out
14. Diamonds Are from Sierra Leona – Tay plays Shirley bassy!
15. Hey Mama – For his Mama
Encore
16. New day – Tay takes Jay-Z’s role and they sit on the stairs leading to the floor and sing to each other and the audience
17. We Are Never Ever Getting back Together Again – Tay brings out the circus artists and the new best friends have a blast.
18. Bound 2 – But end the evening with this lovely ballad with Taylor singing the hook.
