Not all of us hipsters have the honor of living in NYC proper and not all of us have the means to partake of Opera held at The Metropolitan Opera.
So imagine my surprise yesterday as I entered my local cinema to discover the

Unfortunately I discovered this gem a bit late in the season. There are two left:
3/27 Hamlet (Thomas)
5/1 Amrida (Rossini)
I cannot wait to attend these and take the kid. What a great idea as introduction to this art.
Although some would scoff at it as cheapening the Opera believe it a great way to bring the spectacle to the masses and with the HD quality in sight and sound I’m sure it will be effective in delivery.
