I never have and never will like We The Kings.
They've always felt too cliche and too wannabe for my liking. They're so bubblegum that they should be the poster children for anti-bullying. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
They released a new tune called "Friday Is Forever". It's catchy and fun and completely unoriginal. The melody has been done a billion times before, by them and a whole bunch of other pop bands. It reminds me exactly why I don't like them.
The only reason they have fans is because they put up a thin film of actual talent in their songs. Be it one catchy lyric or an interesting key change, that's the one thing that gets people hooked. Not me. I see through the film and realize that a witty one liner isn't enough to save you.
The song is a disappointment. Maybe I would like it if I hadn't heard five hundred other songs that are exactly the same before.
Ew.
