There are alot of musical birthdays today. Gets sorta hard to chose.
We have Terry Chambers, XTC’s drummer, we have ‘Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, I think even Dion. Cupcakes to them all.
The cake today will go to someone who you may have forgotten about- or perhaps you’ve forgotten his band.
Remember War? Thanks to the George Lopez show this generation can sing low rie duh….But war was an AMAZING band!

Papa Dee Allen was born today July 18, 1931. Sadly he passed away, while performing on stage no less, in 1988 of a brain aneurysm.
War still tours.. still with a HUGE following of mostly drunk empty nested 50+’rs out for a good time…yeah not my scene
but I’ll dance around my bedroom to “Low Rider” any day.
