We knew Sony’s Legacy Recordings were handling the Van Morrison back catalog and now we can revel in it. I woke up to find 35 track Essential Van Morrison on new releases and that was good enough, but imagine my job in discovering it was just the appetizer.
Maybe not everything is here but what on earth is missing? There is even “it is turned on” It’s Too Late To Stop Now double liver here… everything, all those albums from the 90s, all those ones you love from the 70s. What appears to be missing is Tupelo Honey and Into the Music as my friend David Allen Jones noted.
Personally I couldn’t be more excited, I wish I was three people and I don’t know where to start… when you want to hear all of Van Morrison and are listening to new releases and rushing to work… there ain’t NOTHING you can do.
For those of you unaware of his 90s masterpieces, let me recommend the 1997 The Healing Game, and for completists The Philosopher’s Stone and for everybody else, call in sick and go Morrison crazy loveish!
