The Ready Set is the driving backbeat to my best or worst day. Jordan’s music never fails to put a huge goofy smile on my face (especially coming home on the bus mouthing the words dramatically and shamelessly). So when I heard his new album I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming was streaming on his Myspace, I had to check it out.
“Love Like Woe” has about 200 plays it says on my iTunes, which is no surprise. It’s been blasted when I’m home alone, pumping through portable speakers while running around town with my best friend, and danced to at friend’s parties. I can see this song being on the radio, maybe even the song of the summer.
“More Than Alive” shows off just what Jordan can do. Any other artist doing this song would be absolutely horrid, but Jodan’s voice makes it perfect. The beat is easy to dance around to, and makes you want to link the song to your Facebook telling everyone to listen to it.
“Upsets and Downfalls” makes me want to drive around cities with this playing, volume turned up as loud as it’ll go, speeding around (that is if I COULD drive…). The perfect tune to listen to after a bad day because the beat is an instant pick-me-up.
“Melody’s Song” sounds like a song in a movie scene where someone is biking around Central Park leisurely. It’s by far my favourite song on his Myspace, and my favourite song right now. It’s been played about ten times so far and many more times to come. The chorus just makes you want to jump up and down and forget about all of your worries.
I can see The Ready Set’s “I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming” being the album of the summer.
