Typos Galore AT rock nyc: -We Wanna get Laid Again? -Iman Lababedi

With the Kings Of Leon controversy, rock nyc has seen yet another spurt of growth. The blog has had a steady build of readership since we started posting in  April, 2009. So much so that it now takes two of us, Helen Bach and I, to edit the blog. Readership has just about tripled since this Spring (if I wanted to, I could sell advertising: I choose not to)
And with it the complaints over typos, spelling and grammar have grown loud, some of the readers are actually warning me I am giving ammunition to the folks who don’t want to take rock nyc seriously. Even my good friend Robert Nevin suggesting it is time to fix it.
rock nyc is one part rock mag -a relation to my Alma Mata Creem and the NME of the late 70s, and one part music diary. It isn’t really rock criticism because it is very, very fluid and in a constant state of flux. And it is also tiny and so I feel free to be scruffy. I feel as though Helen and I are arguing between ourselves and with a bunch of friends, Alyson, Mary, Woody, Todd and Mike. But not with an audience although that’s exactly what Helen and I want. rock nyc is like a guy getting laid for the first time, he can’t believe he is actually doing it and when the girl says “I like you but you have to shower more,” well, if he wants to get laid again he better shower more.
Part of the problem is a question of style and that I won’t change. Part of it is simply finite time -like everybody else who writes here, I have a very, very busy full time job, mine at an advertising agency. I could cut back content but I don’t want to, so I skim as opposed to edit.
However, I will do my best to actually edit in the future. I mean, I do wanna get laid again.
