First, it was said everywhere that Aretha Franklin had pancreatic cancer, just after her hospitalization a little while ago. Now she is saying that all these reports were false, and that she never had any type of cancer. She declared to Access Hollywood, that she was in a lot of pain, and that why she stopped performing, but the cancer scare? she does not know where it comes from:
‘I don’t know where ‘pancreatic cancer’ came from. I was sitting there reading the newspaper and it was saying someone in my family said that. No one in my family ever said that to anybody.’
If it’s true, how is it possible for the press to come up with such an unfounded scenario?
She also declared that her doctor said the surgery she had will add 15 to 20 more years to her life, and that she is winning her battle with her weight as she excitedly said: ‘I’m down to a rockin’ [size] 16 – 18’.
She is also planning to reschedule the concerts that had been canceled in Washington, Virginia and Kansas City. However, she never revealed the reason of her surgery. Why not saying what you have if you want to kill all the rumors?
On the other hand, as Iman was reporting about yesterday, Nile Rodgers has been really candid and outspoken about his cancer, describing his surgery, and sharing every detail in his blog:
‘They told me my cancer was high-grade. I had never heard of the Gleason Scale, the number that grades prostate cancer, prior to my diagnosis. My cancer sat at the head of the class.’
Two rock stars and two different attitudes, … but everyone deals differently with a disease, whatever it is. Of course let’s hope both of them will recover very fast.
