Tuesday’s Dead: New Album Releases Will Change To Friday This Summer

download

Among my favorite moments of the week is 5am on Tuesday mornings when all the new albums are releases, in 1989 the music biz agreed upon a uniform day because of distribution, if it was Friday Ma ab Pa record stores who didn’t get new albums delivered were dead till Monday -a lifetime away. So Tuesday levelled the playing field.

Of course, in 2015 nobody cares about record stores and by having the entire universe choose Friday, leaks would be minimized and therefore this summer Friday will be the day.

My problem is: Friday is a great day anyway, we don’t need to make it a better day but Tuesdays suck, it is the heart of the matter, the weekend is miles away and all that surrounds Tuesday is barren, lifeless and blankness. Most people die on Tuesday because, like Beckett, they go on, they can’t go on.

Actually, that isn’t true but it reads good so…Actually, Tuesday is the most productive day of the week, so I guess it makes sense to release albums that day.

Anyway, folks, effective this summer expect new releases on Friday. And I am really upset, it is stupid and I see zero reason to change anything, the fools. why doesn’t the recording industry mend stuff that is broken? Leave well enough a lone.
