I remember getting a Toots greatest hits twenty years ago but these reggae giants just keep going and this spiritual off their new album Flip And Twist that the first coupla seconds in I thought it was the Winan Siblings (who I am going to see on Thursday).
Pretty soon its reggae roots becomes clear and all the uplift is so subtle it levitates you: especially the flute which seems to be backing Toots up melody line by melody line.
Pretty great and the album also includes Wonder’s “Higher Ground” which I hven’t bought yet but I plan to.
